As many may know, Cenac Marine Services has been continuing to develop new vessels. We take pride in our growing culture and growing fleet. We most recently held a christening ceremony to celebrate the release of our newest vessel and the ending of a series.
The M/V Quincey Cenac is the latest addition to Cenac’s growing fleet. It is the 24th in our newest series. Each vessel has measured 72 feet long by 30 feet wide and typically creates 10-12 new jobs here at Cenac. In addition to these new jobs, supplies, equipment and fuel are required for each vessel. These needs also have a trickle down effect into the local economy.
The christening event was held on Friday, July 29th. In attendance were Cenac employees and their families, parish officials, chamber members and friends of the Cenac Marine Services family. We were honored to have Cenac family patriarch and previous owner, Mr. Arlen Cenac Sr., participate in the christening along with other key family members.
This event commemorated the ending of the latest vessel series here at Cenac, but not the end of progress and development. A new series of six larger vessels is already in development and will be available for viewing shortly. We’ll have more on our progress as it occurs.
On behalf of Mr. Benny Cenac and Cenac Marine Services we’d like to thank everyone who was able to attend our event. Your presence helped us to celebrate the progress we are working hard to continue for the Houma area.
