Benny Cenac, Houma native, is proud to announce that his company, Cenac Marine Services, will participate in this year’s third-annual Son Rise Christian Music Festival. Planned for Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Lafourche Central Market Pavilion in Mathews, Louisiana, the festival is expected to be visited by thousands from across the state.
Founded in 2016, the Son Rise Christian Music Festival was created to celebrate a common belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and brings together many participants of various Christian faiths together over a common love for music.
For the second time, Benny Cenac and his company will sponsor the event. However, this time in cooperation with Lift 3:16, Inc., a nonprofit based in Houma, to put on this incredible event for the community members in Houma and surrounding areas.
Benny Cenac, Houma CEO of Cenac Marine Services and local entrepreneur understood how important the event has become for the community of Houma and wanted to be part of putting together this spiritual event. Based on the extreme success and the impact it had on the community last year, Benny Cenac knew his team had to support the Son Rise Music Festival again.

As an avid philanthropist, Benny Cenac is no stranger to giving back to his community and has donated thousands to local and state organizations, striving to enrich the lives of his neighbors and friends. A dedicated leader in his community, Benny, Houma businessman, has served on several boards and committees, including Nicholls State University College of Business Advisory Board, Nicholls State University Foundation and Restore or Retreat, a non-profit coastal advocacy group working to protect the Barataria and Terrebonne basins from further destruction. Benny Cenac Jr is also a member of American Waterways Operators, South Central Industrial Association, Greater New Orleans Foundation and the Bayou Community Foundation.
The event, which is free for all attendees and open to all ages, will feature food booths that offer a variety of meals and snacks throughout the duration of the festival. In addition, the event also welcomes local vendors to sell their goods and services to attendees, stimulating the local economy over a mutual love for music.
Other programs planned during the event include a Mario Kart Tournament, which is open to all between ages 4 and 12, and the winners will even receive a prize. The festival recommends those interested to sign up online prior to event on their website.
The music festival will also include various activities for kids of all ages, including Kim’s Playhouse, a bungee run, Sticky-wall, Human Whack-A-Mole, face-painting, and lots more! Sponsors of the event have also extended an invite to local organizations and companies to sign up for the Seafood Cook-off! 1st place prizes of $200 will be awarded in 3 categories: Rising Son (judges’ favorite for taste), Son Rise Presentation (judges’ favorite for presentation) and People’s choice. As a life-long member of the Houma community, Benny Cenac, Houma native, looks forward to bringing together the diverse community in a celebration of music and a mutual love for Jesus. Throughout the day, attendees will be serenaded by a variety of dynamic musicians from South Louisiana. Starting at 8:45 am, the festival will start with music by the Cajun Music Band, L.A. Rose for those who prefer a little Cajun Dancing for breakfast.
This will be followed by a Christian worship band led by Dr. Karl Haydel then the Gospel group, 3MC. For the remainder of the day, Christian Rock bands such as Like Giants, Empowered and the rap group K. Levy & The Legends will provide attendees with a variety of great music. The event will conclude with a huge praise & worship session led by More Than Sunday and featuring a number of the musicians who have performed throughout the day.
