You may already know this, but Cenac takes pride in its unique culture – we truly do operate as a family. In this blog series, we will be highlighting employees at every level and position at the company so that you can see exactly why Cenac is as successful as it continues to be, and that’s in large part because of its amazing people.
The first employee highlighted in this series is the first person that you will ever meet when you walk through Cenac Towing’s doors…and you are always greeted with a smile. Amy Soudelier has been Cenac’s receptionist extraordinaire for over 30 years. She’s grown with the company, and we certainly couldn’t have made it without her! Learn a little bit more about Amy’s time here below.
What’s a normal day on the job like for you?
A normal day for me is probably much like you expect it to be. I answer all calls that come into our main phone line, and I sort and deliver mail each morning. Throughout the month I also take care of financial bookkeeping (so yes, I am the person you want to bring coffee and treats to because I cut the checks) ☺
What’s your favorite aspect of your job?
I love being able to greet everyone that walks through our doors. We are truly a family, so it’s nice to get to chat with all of the amazing employees each day as well the nice, new people who stop into the office for a visit.
Do you have a favorite company tradition or celebration that you like to partake in?
Boat christenings are very special here; the entire company comes together to celebrate all the hard work it takes to craft the boats as well as all the work to come for the boat. It’s always an exciting time.
Can you share one of your favorite memories from your time working with Benny Cenac?
Benny is a kind man. There are so many wonderful memories I have with him here over the past 30 years. Cenac has been my family for so long and not only has Benny watched me grow; I have had the opportunity to watch him be so successful as well. I can’t describe how grateful I am to be a part of it all.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
Spending time with my family, especially my two beautiful grandchildren. I also love a good workout – exercise helps me relieve stress and maintain my energy levels while running around with the grandkids!
