In part two of our year in review series, I continue to reflect on 2016 and the accomplishments our team at Cenac has had. This team is dedicated to the success of our company and their hard work is always evident. We had several notable accomplishments last year but there are a few that stand out the most for us.
Cenac Towing has been a proud sponsor of the Wounded Warrior Project. Each year that we are able to sponsor and work with this project has been a true honor. We had the opportunity to host four Wounded War Heroes during the 2016 Houma Oilman’s Fishing Tournament , and we have been honored to have this opportunity for the last four years. We look forward to continuing the tradition of assisting our Veterans again in 2017.
In addition to donating a spud barge to Terrebonne Parish for levee conservation, we wrapped up a significant series of new and improved boats. The M/V Quincey Cenac was the last boat (24th) in our largest series to date. Christenings are a time-honored tradition at Cenac that I truly love. They are a true resemblance and mixture of what we are all about-maritime towboats, a commitment to continue to provide the best service to our customers, family and friends. We have a new series of boats making its debut this year so stay tuned here for updates on its progress.
Lastly, we were extremely honored and humbled to receive the LWCC Safest 70 Award for 2015 during the 2016 business year. This award acknowledges excellence, outstanding performance and commitment to workplace safety. Cenac was recognized based on the effectiveness of its safety efforts in preventing injuries and controlling costs. This award would not have be possible without the hard work and dedication of all of our wonderful employees.
As always, all of our success is credited to our wonderfully dedicated team. We are eternally grateful for each and every one of them and are looking forward to what 2017 will bring for our Cenac Team.
