As we wrap up our final thoughts on 2017, we can’t help but get excited about all the fun that was had as we were given the opportunity in being involved in so many festivals. Mr. Arlen “Benny” Cenac, CEO of Cenac Marine Services, was very honored to be involved in the local Houma Community festivals that were presented throughout the year.
As a title sponsor of the Best of the Bayou 2017 Festival, Cenac was happy to partner with this well-known event that featured some of the best artists from the southern region that come together every year for a weekend full of mouth-watering Cajun cuisine, handmade arts and crafts, and unlimited fun for the family. Not only was this a fun filled event but it had a great cause as well- A portion of the proceeds from the 2017 festival funded grants for high school music departments in Terrebonne Parish. For us at Cenac Marine Services, there is nothing that beats having a great time and giving back all in one!
Another great festival that took place in Houma was the SonRise Christian Music Festival. This festival was rescheduled from its original date due to bad weather and it still had a great turn out! This was the second year that SonRise was held in Houma with free admission for all and a lineup of some of the best Christian Bands and performers. This festival also came with a great cause as proceeds that were raised at the event went towards The World of Hope Ministries and their work in some of the poorest communities around the world, as well as the Terrebonne Children’s Advocacy Center.
Last, but certainly not least, Cenac Marine Services had the pleasure of participating in the first annual Downtown Fall Fest. Not only would DFF support local musicians while drawing outsiders to the area, but it would also serve as a cause to give back to the community. Not only did Downtown Fall Fest support local musicians while drawing outsiders to the area, but it also served as a cause to give back to the community. Those are the reasons it made it impossible for Mr. Cenac to turn down the opportunity. Proceeds from the event, and all future events, will be dispersed to local music programs for the purpose of purchasing and repairing instruments, as well as other learning materials. So once again, not only was this lively event full of fun for all ages, but the heart off it was to supports a phenomenal cause.
“Not only are these events family friendly and fun events, but they offer Cenac the opportunity to support the Houma Community- a community that we love and call home”, stated Mr. Benny Cenac, “Thank you to each one of you, including our Cenac employees that we call family, for coming out and participating in these events with us. We look forward to carrying on these traditions in 2018.”
