When the idea of Downtown Fall Fest (DFF) began, the mission was to rebuild the local music scene in and around the Houma area. Not only would DFF support local musicians while drawing outsiders to the area, but it would also serve as a cause to give back to the community. For that reason, Houma native Arlen “Benny” Cenac Jr., owner of Cenac Marine Serivces, decided that CMS would jump on the opportunity to be the Title Sponsor for this boundless event.
Downtown Fall Fest has future aspirations, as they state on their website, to support future generations of musicians, “Proceeds from this event, and all future events, will be dispersed to local music programs for the purpose of purchasing and repairing instruments, as well as other learning materials.” Mr. Cenac was thrilled to be a part of this new and upcoming event, “not only does this weekend bring liveliness and music to the Houma area but it supports a great cause as well.”
After the success of this past weekend’s event, Cenac Marine Services is looking forward to their stated “future events”. The lineup at the 2017 Downtown Fall Fest was full of entertainment. With over 20 artists and bands taking the at least one of four stages at a time, which started on the 15th of this month and ended on Sunday the 17th, all ages received the performances they were expecting and more! Not to mention, the football fans were pleased as well to see the LSU VS. Mississippi State game that aired on Saturday night at 6pm and the Saints game on Sunday being played on large screens for their viewing.
If you weren’t able to make it to out to the Downtown Fall Festival this year, be sure to check out their website here and their Facebook page here for more information on upcoming events!
