20 Dec GUIDANCE FOR PICKLING PUMPS AND WINTERIZING VALVES

Posted at 16:52h in Safety Bulletins

This guidance stems from a recent incident where we experienced pumps that had been frozen due to hardened prior cargo residuals left in the deep well. These steps may be common practice already for you, but we have yet to publish any guidance until now. This would not apply to light crude oils or light VGO’s for instance, but after discharging heavier cargoes which require substantial heat, we need to follow these steps to avoid related issues and delays on the next load.
