The festival kicked off on Friday night with a phenomenal turn out of all ages to watch the movie, The Polar Express, outside. Families gathered together in chairs and on blankets, some in their pajamas, to sit together, eat popcorn, and enjoy complimentary milk and cookies. It was a picture perfect night and you could truly feel the spirit of Christmas in the air that night.

The parade was an equal success as it had been in past years with a large amount of participants and tons of excited kids awaiting the start of it. Another popular part of the festival was the “Giving Tree”, which had also been done in the past. The Louis Children’s Crisis Center is grateful for the goods that were sold on-site by Bertinot’s Best Baker and the Terrebonne Children’s Advocacy Center had a table and tree set up so that festival-goers were able to choose a tag from the tree and provide food items for their holiday meals.
All in all, the Houma Christmas Festival was a massive achievement that we at Cenac Marine Services were honored to sponsor yet another year. Thank you to everyone who came out to share this special experience with. From our family to yours, Merry Christmas.
