After being rescheduled almost two months later, SonRise Christian Music Festival had a phenomenal turn out on Saturday December 2, 2017 at the Houma Civic Center. This free parking, free admission music festival featured a lineup of 8 top Christian bands and performers that took stage starting at 11am on that Saturday.
Although this was only the festival’s 2nd year, they featured over 50 vendors and estimated between 1,000-2,000 attendees throughout the day. Proceeds that were raised at the event will be going towards The World of Hope Ministries and their work in some of the poorest communities around the world, as well as the Terrebonne Children’s Advocacy Center.
Arlen “Benny” Cenac Jr., owner of Cenac Marine Services, was proud to be a stage sponsor and donate to the successful event. Charles Gaiennie, Sonrise Music Festival event organizer said, “Because this festival is 100% volunteer based, the donation from Mr. Cenac has been transformational for us. It has allowed us to confidently move forward with advertising and promotions far more than we could have imagined.”
